I was in a senior leadership role when I had my first experience of executive coaching and it changed my life. I thought my coach had magic powers, because I left that coaching session with a level of clarity and certainty I hadn’t felt in years.
I love helping people achieve positive change in their lives – identifying the areas for growth that will make the biggest difference to their confidence, career, and/or wellbeing. I especially love working with people to stretch their thinking and explore new possibilities. Through coaching I help people take a step back and get clarity about their personal vision, then make changes that will move them toward that.
I have coached people at almost every level of seniority and stage of life, from an incredibly diverse range of backgrounds and industries; what really lights me up is working with people to uncover their unique strengths and find their motivation, or ‘spark’. A recent client wrote:
"I’d lost my mojo: Julie set me on a path to get it back. She listened. She challenged. She armed me with tools. She broadened my thinking about my life, my work and ultimately, myself. Our coaching sessions made what had been a muddle in my head keeping me awake at night, merge into a clear way forward."
I’ve made some tough choices in my own pursuit of ‘balance’, which gives me a first-hand appreciation of how difficult it can be to know what you want [for yourself and your family] … then develop the strategies and maintain the momentum to pursue it.
I’m an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and my commitment to the profession of coaching led me to be the current President for the ICF’s SA Branch.
