Electrical Engineer - Transmission & Distribution

Job Summary

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer within our highly successful T&D team, you will be involved in the primary design of HV transmission, distribution and generation projects within the ANZ region.

You will be working within an engaging team of T&D experts in a supportive environment where learning and growth opportunities are actively encouraged.

Day to day responsibilities include;

  • Concept and Detailed Design of HV substation primary systems, HV cable systems and earthing systems

  • Site visits, inspections and testing as required (eg. soil resistivity testing)

  • Preparing design reports

  • Assisting with preparation of proposals

  • Managing smaller projects or parts of larger projects including coordinating multiple disciplines.

  • Interfacing directly with clients on projects and new opportunities

  • Providing technical expertise in accordance with project time, quality and cost objectives as agreed with Project Managers

  • Compiling budget estimates and pricing schedules

Minimum Requirements

You will have a solid grounding in primary electrical design and be able to demonstrate;

  • 5 years minimum relevant experience in T&D substation design

  • Knowledge of the T&D industry in New Zealand

  • Site experience/experience in projects being constructed and commissioned

  • Experience in suitable software packages

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • Self-motivated and keen to progress career

Preferred Qualifications

University degree - BE Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
