Principal Mechanical Engineer – Industrial & Infrastructure

Job Summary

The Role

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and delivery of complex Infrastructure and Industrial projects throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Key tasks include:

  • Technical input and delivery of roading, water and industrial projects
  • Coordinating with discipline leads on large scale projects
  • Growing AECOM’s client base and specialist offering in the market
  • Providing support and guidance to junior engineers
  • Site visits, inspections and testing
  • Drafting design reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of proposals
  • Reviewing budget estimates and pricing schedules

Travel to other parts of ANZ to AECOM, client or site offices will be required.

Minimum Requirements

About You

You will have a proven background in Infrastructure and Industrial design and be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • CPEng or equivalent is essential
  • 15 years+ experience in Mechanical Engineering including industrial, infrastructure and water
  • Knowledge of the local market in Australia/New Zealand
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction supervision experience is preferable
