We have an exciting opportunity for an intermediate lawyer to join our award winning and highly regarded Legal Group.  You will assist in managing legal risk in relation to a major regulatory project that affects the wider ANZ group. 

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel – Retail and Business Banking, you will work closely with our project team and key stakeholders to achieve the project objectives.  You will be responsible for delivering quality, timely, commercially relevant and cost-effective legal advice.  You will ensure legal risks are mitigated and that appropriate governance is followed.


Role Location: Wellington

Role Type: 12 month fixed term opportunity 

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have as a minimum an LLB qualification and a current New Zealand practising certificate with at least 4 years post qualification experience in a large law firm or the in-house legal team of a large commercial or corporate business. Financial services or regulatory experience would be an advantage. 

You will be experienced in statutory interpretation, drafting and reviewing legal agreements, and helping to deliver commercial outcomes. You will be able to manage competing priorities, work self-sufficiently, and demonstrate your ability to gain the respect of, and influence, internal and external stakeholders.
