Developer, BI/ Data Analytics & Warehousing

About the role

  • We are seeking a Developer with a proven track record in design and development of Data warehouse to join our Data Intelligence team
  • Build and contribute to the design of ANZs strategic data platforms as part of a scrum team
  • Assist the Delivery teams with continually improving delivery processes to enhance stakeholder satisfaction
  • Contribute to building and developing continuous integration solutions across the programme
  • Promote collaboration within your immediate team as well as the wider group, and shape the way we work in the future
  • Build and work within a cross functional team environment

Location: Auckland
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: Standard business hours with flexible working options available

 
About you

To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

  • 2+ years’ of solid commercial experience as a developer within an enterprise scale data warehouse technology environment (e.g. Teradata, Oracle or SQL server)
  • Well-developed SQL scripting experience 
  • Experience with enterprise ETL platforms such as Datastage, Wherescape RED or Informatica
  • Understanding of or practical development experience using Tableau or other analytics tools.
  • Experience with design and implementation of BI & analytics capabilities.
  • Experience and understanding of data modelling concepts and data warehousing architectures  
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle and ideally within an Agile environment (e.g. use of Scrum, Kanban techniques)
  • Proven problem-solving ability and the ability to work individually as well as within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 Advantageous skills & experience

  • Proficiency in coding with at least one programming language (e.g. Java, C#, Python etc.)
  • Experience of working with API’s or Microservices
  • Understanding of the Teradata Architecture with a proven knowledge of Teradata models and frameworks ideally FSDM and GCFR. 
  • Working knowledge in DevOps practices & continuous integration & delivery
  • Previous experience within financial services 
  • Working knowledge and experience in performance tuning & query optimization in data platforms
  • Understanding on unix scripting is preferred but not mandatory.
