Financial Governance Manager

About the role:

As the Financial Governance Manager you will have the opportunity to:

  • Demonstrate your excellent audit skills in delivering an effective audit/ quality assurance and finance reporting governance programme within New Zealand’s Institutional function
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with Finance, Business Partners and other key stakeholders whilst contributing to various stakeholder forums
  • Assist in meeting ANZ’s external reporting and financial integrity responsibilities primarily though helping ensure a strong control environment
  • Manage the delivery of ANZ’s 6 monthly Financial Governance Attestation programme. Interact with ANZ’s senior leadership team
  • Drive an effective and co-operative relationship with various quality assurance teams to ensure efficient delivery of Financial Governance Framework initiatives.
  • Partner with the Business to provide accounting support, financial advice and insights on business initiatives as needed
  • Interact closely with ANZ’s external audit team

Location: Wellington

Role Type: Permanent

Role hours: Standard business hours with flexibility

 

About you:

To be successful in this role you will bring the following: 

  • Excellent audit and interpersonal communication skills
  • Approximately four years or more professional experience in Audit or Finance roles 
  • Ability to influence and interact with staff at all levels within an organisation
  • Demonstrated experience with statutory and regulatory accounting within a banking/insurance environment
  • Strong initiative and proactive attitude to undertake responsibilities including audit engagements and deep dive reviews that add value
  • Commercial edge with sound business acumen and a focus on the customer
  • Excellent planning, co-ordinating and prioritisation skills
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is essential
