About The Role

This role is new to the NZ Payments Domain and will operate in a focused manner across our ANZ Payments Platforms – Internationally and Domestically for payments passing via SWIFT services.

We are looking for a Lead Engineer who has strong experience in managing and operating SWIFT Communication services as a result of changes to the support model within the payments domain in NZ. The Lead Engineer will show extensive knowledge of some of the key competencies required to satisfy our SWIFT standards at an industry level and have specialised skills to allow for cross skilling across the NZ Payments Domain. 

  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Having a mind-set that will embrace a set of engineering approaches to run better production systems
  • Taking charge of delivering specific SWIFT technical engineering knowledge to apply to our Payments landscape and to ensure that where required, we can accurately attest to the standards outlined by being a SWIFT Participant.
  • Play a critical role in ensuring our Payments technology maintains stability and availability to the highest standards to meet the Business Operational and Delivery objectives.
  • Assist in supporting, transitioning of knowledge and cross skilling experience throughout the rest of the payments team to remove any Key Person Risks associated with this position.
  • Building excellent rapport with stakeholders and team members and be well versed in the current technology trends and standards occurring throughout the world.

About You
 Key skills and experience:

  • Excellent experience operating in a SWIFT environment or with a strong SWIFT background
  • Experience in SWIFT Alliance, SWIFT Gateway and SWIFT Unix Environments
  • Experience in SWIFT Admin components
  • Strong experience in Unix or RHEL Operating systems and supporting technologies
  • Excellent HSM implementation, configuration and management knowledge
  • Strong agile or DevOps capabilities – having worked in that environment for many years
  • Excellent Payments knowledge having worked in a the FinTec industry for over 5+ years
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and capable of effectively interacting with individuals in a broad range of situations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting experience and ability to analyse and decipher issues under immense time pressures
  • Ability to articulate and explain information in a confident manner to peers, customers and management, interacting in a range of circumstances using different techniques. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, deliver to sometimes tight timelines and manage and prioritise conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Ability to listen and understand content, using reinforcement techniques as appropriate.
