Platform Lead

About The Role
ANZ are in the final stages of implementing a new modern Switch and we require you to lead a high performing team to unlock the value of this platform for the bank. In this role you will lead four build and run squads (~40 FTE) and have approximately 20 direct reports. You will complete the Switch Modernisation other business and compliance features, and advocate for continuing investment in technology features to increase automation and reduce cost of services. To be successful in this role you must have strong experience in leading agile teams in a newly established build and run environment.
 
In this role, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Oversee and ensure end-to-end delivery of stable, cost effective, business aligned solutions through the application lifecycle
  • Lead and foster a collaborative, supportive environment and ensure a high level of engagement
  • Foster excellent working relationships with various stakeholders and vendors

Hours: Standard business hours with plenty of flexibility  
 
About You
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • People oriented, with a passion for developing others; you will have previous people leadership experience managing a team of at least 20 people and delivering within an agile environment.
  • You are an inspiring, positive and resilient leader.
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt and respond positively to change. Previous experience successfully leading a team through significant cultural and technology change.
  • Proactively seeks out opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the team
  • An ability to delegate work, thereby empowering staff to make decisions and take accountability.
  • You will be committed to addressing the barriers to your team’s success, clearly communicating their work to all stakeholders and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while delving into the details on specific issues.
  • Agile portfolio lead, or programme management experience. You have driven successful implementation of large change programmes through tough constraints.
  • You have experience in leading a risk based approach for systems with very strict non-functional requirements.
  • You have chaired executive steering committees or other decision making forums. 
  • You also have an up to date knowledge of evolving automation practices within the market and the sector.
  • Banking - specifically payments and switching - industry experience is advantageous.
