About The Role

As a senior automation test engineer you will join ANZ’s Omni Assisted Channel to become part of a innovative, diverse, and collaborative team that are focused and committed to enhancing the functionality of banking systems to meet business needs. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Build and contribute to the test design of ANZ’s Banker Workbench as part of a scrum team.
  • Assist the Delivery teams with continually improving delivery processes to enhance stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Assist in supporting a positive and supportive culture in Digital Banking.
  • Demonstrate your leadership skills to lead and guide testers on the team as well as provide hands expertise in one of many test areas as part of the team.
  • Develop and improve test strategy to support all test phases including Unit, Systems, End to End, Integration, Regression and User Acceptance Testing where required.
  • Track and manage test demand at project level to ensure agreed delivery dates are adhered to by working with the Platform Leads
  • Proactively identify technical, architectural, process risks and issues throughout the testing process.
  • Assist in test development and execution when needed.
  • Schedule test events and environments and other co-ordination activities.

About You

You will join a team of seasoned, senior testers that excel in working in a highly collaborative, supportive, Agile environment. Your experience as a Senior Test Engineer to date will complement the team with your forward thinking, test strategy development skills as well as being able to rapidly and effectively manage BAU test demands in process. You will be a natural people person and a skilled communicator comfortable taking to both technologists and users alike.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial software development as a senior automation test engineer ideally with at least 2 years in an Agile/ Scrum environment
  • An agile and open mindset – able to consider new ideas and approaches to complex situations
  • Experience with multiple programming languages (.NET, React) with a solid understanding of programming concepts.
  • Experience with API and UI testing along with a demonstrable track record with Microservices testing.
  • Proven experience with Test Automation tools (such as Selenium/Web driver, Concordian,   Wiremock, Jest) including Cypress, TestCafe and with good understanding of Javascript.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery(CI/CD) system in Jenkins and Openshift.
  • Experience with QA review process using source control tools Bitbucket and Github.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of functional and non‐functional testing
  • Proven knowledge of IT testing methodologies such as Agile with strong experience in frameworks such as Scrum.
  • Solid experience within self-organising teams.
  • A self-managing individual that is proactive and curious.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Test documentation and execution skills across the testing lifecycle and across complex environments.
  • A technical knowledge and understanding of relational databases, web services, messaging, stubbing, Unix commands.
