Test Manager - Payments Systems

  • Take a leading role within the Test Team to ensure the successful delivery of test projects
  • Provide expert analysis, business and technical knowledge to ensure application changes meet business objectives and requirements
  • Build the professional capability of the team to build best practice and to optimise test automation in a highly Agile environment

About the role

Working as a Test Manager within the ANZ Payments team, you will be passionate about driving change in the test automation and continuous delivery space. Leading and managing high-performing Agile teams, you will focus on improving software quality, delivering software faster and more reliably.

About you

  • The nature of the role will heavily rely on your extensive knowledge of the NZ and Australian Banking industry as well as High Volume/Low Value Payments processing systems or platforms.
  • You will be very familiar with working within and managing a Build/Run team with the experience and confidence to support customer impacting productions systems.
  • With your demonstrated experience in automated and manual testing of Enterprise Scale Payments Applications, you will perform analysis on business requirements in order to document test cases. As the Test Manager you will be comfortable in understanding complex business scenarios and produce plain English tests that can be automated.
  • You will assist with the development of test plans and test data to support all test phases including Unit, Systems, End to end, Integration, Regression and User Acceptance Testing where required
  • You will execute automated test scripts and write medium complexity automated scripts within existing automation frameworks and be able to proactively identify technical, architectural and process risks and issues throughout the testing process.
  • You will be a natural and confident communicator. You will be spending your day working alongside developers, testers, BA’s and product owners so your Banking systems knowledge and your testing expertise will enable you to confidently communicate complex technical issues in a business context and be good at asking hard questions at the right time (and the wrong time).
  • You’ll be working with small teams where collaboration and relationship building is key.  We are interested in people who enjoy a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, who don’t get attached to a particular technology or practice and importantly who want to drive change in the organisation.
  • You will have proven experience working as a Technical Test Engineer or Technical Tester across multiple disciplines (e.g. performance testing, test automation, web service and API testing, security, contract based testing), and you’ll be expected to contribute to the ongoing improvement of test processes, test strategy, tools, and methodology.

 Essential Skills & Experience:

  • It is essential you have at least 3+ years of Test Management experience, preferably in a New Zealand Banking environment.
  • 5+ years of testing experience, preferably in a New Zealand Banking environment

  • Proven experience (3 years minimum) designing, developing and maintaining test automation scripts and stubbing frameworks as a Test Engineer or Automation/Senior Automation Specialist.
  • Proven experience (3 years minimum) with test automation tools, (e.g. Selenium/Webdriver, Cucumber, Concordian, Wiremock, Jmeter etc.)
