Citi New Zealand is looking to hire a Relationship Manager within the Corporate Bank for a vertically integrated role that requires managing a portfolio of clients (constructed to best suit their experience spanning Financial Institutions, Public Sector and/or Local Corporates), identifying and originating new clients, whilst also supporting their Manager execute transactions, manage processes and ensure delivery of the teams broader objectives and goals. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and disciplined and has the ability to work as a team while relentlessly focused on delivering their client responsibilities.

This position is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your existing client management skills, whilst broadening your industry and product experience with a global focus. The successful candidate will be provided with a portfolio of clients across a range of industries that may include Telecommunications, Industrials, Agriculture, FinTech, Bank and Non-Bank FI’s and the Public Sector

The Corporate Bank is a unified coverage group within Citibank’s Banking Capital Markets and Advisory division with a broad responsibility to work with product partners to lead client engagement, develop client strategy, identify and execute opportunities and manage credit and capital allocation processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the market in which your clients operate, key success factors, challenges and objectives.  From this knowledge will come the ability to identify originate and execute opportunities with those new clients that will drive the business forward
  • End to end responsibility for ensuring transaction memo’s, solutioning, advice etc is fit for purpose and complies with policy & procedures.
  • Support the Corporate Bank Head with a variety of business reporting, internal communications, research, and development of innovative solutions that address clients’ needs and objectives
  • From time to time support the Country Head with the implementation of regional and global initiatives

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum of a University Degree in Accounting & Finance or similar qualification
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (e.g., Credit Analysis and Transaction Approval Memo writing, Financial Modelling, Knowledge and familiarity with a range of banking products and services, Loan, security and derivative  related documentation, and/or direct client engagement and prospecting)
  • High energy, strong work ethic and ability to work independently, roll-up-the-sleeves approach
  • Team player who works well with others
  • Strong writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and cultural skills to work with a variety of countries and products across the region
  • Fluent in English
