Communications Advisor

Are you a natural storyteller and persuasive communicator? Do you enjoy collaborating with others to get great results? Are you someone who thrives in a dynamic and changing environment? If this sounds like you, let’s talk!

We’re seeking a motivated and smart communications professional to join our Governance team. You will contribute to Contact’s efforts to improve its reputation through effective communications plans aligned to Contact’s purpose, behaviours and strategic priorities, reflecting both the business environment and the New Zealand energy market.

We’ll keep you busy with a variety of projects including writing briefs, media releases, pitches, and annual report content to name a few. From time to time, you’ll be asked to provide advice to business managers on issues and media relations.

To be successful in this role ideally you will:

  • Have experience dealing with news media, and ideally, acting as media spokesperson
  • Have a solid understanding of New Zealand’s traditional media and social media landscapes
  • Have the ability to transform technically-laden language into well written English
  • Be digitally savvy with creative flair and a deep interest in people
  • Be able to prepare written documents and provide sound advice quickly and to the highest standard

So, what will you get out of it? The chance to work for one of NZ’s largest listed companies and further develop your already superb communications skills in supportive team environment, with flexible working and employment benefits galore. You’ll relish in the challenge of taking on dynamic projects that will put your career in good stead.

Ready to roll up your sleeves and be a part of something game-changing? What’s the next step? Contact us of course! Applications close 9am 23rd January, 2019. For more information, email resourcingteam@contactenergy.co.nz

We are proud to offer ‘ContactFlex’ – a range of options that promote flexibility in where we work, the way we work and when we work. For the right person we would consider part time hours, talk to us about what flexible working options could work for you.
