The job

You’ll be part of our Generation and Development group - responsible for Contact’s wholesale portfolio which includes generating assets (hydro, geothermal and thermal), electricity trading, fuel management, environmental sustainability and new generation projects.

Specifically however, you’ll be responsible for developing software solutions, advising the business on technology, and integrating systems across the electricity sector to continue to develop value in Contact’s Generation & Development portfolio. As you enter this position, you’ll enjoy collaborating with your colleagues to deliver a significant project currently underway. In the near future, the opportunity to take the lead on other ventures will be yours as our team focus mostly on new developments.

Ideally, curly problems are your forte and your expertise in service design, building and testing high-quality code will be second to none. Confidence in your ability to learn and master new ideas and technology at an advanced pace will see you in good stead.

The Team

You’ll be joining our spirited New Ventures team who are comfortable challenging status quo and putting the hard yards in to deliver to Contact’s strategy – you’ll do best if you’re wearing a thick skin and relish in joining in on a bit of banter along the way! Our team are a tight knit clan who work closely together to deliver solutions.

Ideally you’ll bring

Exposure to a JVM based language, preferably Kotlin or Java would be hugely beneficial to your success in this role along with front-end React experience (or comparable products). A working knowledge of the electricity industry will be essential.
