User Experience Strategist

User Experience Strategist

Experience the future

Our Customer business is transforming to ensure we stay ahead of a hyper-competitive market and increasingly sophisticated expectations from customers.

Our Digital team is at the forefront of this transformation, leading the charge with our best in class user experience.

We’re looking for an UX practitioner with experience in both design and research to join our growing design team as we build our customer led digital journeys.

As a UX Strategist you will:

  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, and devs to create world class experiences for customers across a range of digital products.
  • Lead research with customers to understand, articulate, and advocate their needs through-out our human centred design process.
  • Plan service design research and create artefacts that promote a clear understanding of our customer journeys and innovative opportunities to reach our business goals.
  • Partner closely with designers to define IA and content hierarchy in design projects.
  • You will ideate new concepts, prototype rapidly, and test designs with customers to gain insights that improve our digital experiences.

How you’ll be successful:

  • You'll have experience planning and conducting face to face qualitative research with customers.
  • With a background in digital products or design, you will be comfortable with a hands-on mix of design ‘learning’, ‘prototyping, and ‘refining’ for responsive web or mobile app experiences.
  • Do you love working collaboratively, in close partnership with a multi-disciplinary team? Together you will follow a shared HCD process to create simple and innovative designs for customers.
  • You'll be a strong visual communicator who prefers to ‘show’ rather than ‘tell’. You will create lean outputs that build empathy, tell stories, and align others. This may include experience maps, engagement models, user flows, task scenarios, personas, wireframes, IA’s and content hierarchies.
  • As a strategic thinker, you will help teams think about problems from a customer perspective. You will facilitate workshops and group sessions to help your team and stakeholders find opportunities at the intersection between user needs, business goals, and technical requirements.
  • You'll be comfortable with digital environments, and navigating technical complexity to identify the implications for customers and designing experiences.
  • We’re a fast moving environment, focussed on delivering and making a difference. To keep up with the flow, you will be able to balance the desire to understand deep customer questions, with the need to be lean and pragmatic to deliver to market.

Key skill sets:

The ideal ‘T-Shaped’ candidate will have a mix of 2 or more deep strengths and broad experience in the rest:

  • Visual communication and group facilitation
  • Strategic design thinking and project ‘Sensemaking’
  • Qualitative cx or ux research
  • Quantitative digital analytics
  • Information designer & content strategy
  • Interface and UI design

If this sounds like you, get in touch by applying, or calling Gavin Buchanan on 0212454321

This is a business critical role, as a result Contact Energy reserves the right to appoint a successful candidate during the advertising process. If you are interested in this role please don't delay - apply now! we would love to hear from you.
