The New Zealand Superannuation Fund is New Zealand's sovereign wealth fund, established to partially pre-fund the future cost of New Zealand superannuation. The Position
As a Portfolio Manager in the External Investments & Partnerships team, you will lead the Guardians’ relationships with several incumbent external investment managers. You will also lead investment projects to analyse and assess prospective investments contained within a broad range of asset classes.

Key responsibilities include:

Participating in the team’s identification and assessment of investment opportunities

Active oversight of current investments in the team’s portfolio, including the selection, appointment, and monitoring of investment managers

Developing strategic partnerships with relevant peer funds and investment managers

Assisting with the development of junior team members

Your Background
Leading the Guardians’ relationship with investment teams at some of the world’s most highly regarded investment managers requires that candidates bring excellent interpersonal skills, energy, enthusiasm, and a sophisticated approach to relationship management.

As a senior member of the External Investments & Partnerships team, you will be expected to bring an advanced level of finance and investments knowledge. You will also need the ability to think beyond your own frame of reference to meet the challenge of evaluating different asset classes.
