Consultant, Accounting/Compliance Reporting - Auckland


We are looking to hire a financial statement specialist to support our clients with their accounting and statutory reporting obligations. As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to work with national and multinational clients enabling you to strengthen your practical accounting experience, enhance your project management skills as well as build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

 
Your key responsibilities
 

Drawing on your skills and experience in accounting, you will support clients through their financial statement close process and preparation of statutory financial reports. Applying your organisational and project management skills you will work across multiple projects and clients both autonomously and as a team member collaborating with our global network of resources.

 
Skills and attributes for success

  • Understanding of the process to prepare financial statements, including technical skills related to month and year-end close-off processes including adjustments, reconciliations and reporting
  • Understanding and experience with statutory reporting review and the various New Zealand statutory reporting requirements
  • Practical understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and special purpose reporting frameworks
  • Strong project management/organisational skills.
  • Excellent client facing skills with the confidence to build a network
  • Knowledge or experience in bookkeeping, management accounting and year-end close procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills



To qualify for the role you must have

  • Experience in preparing statutory financial reports
  • Previous experience in business and corporate services
  • Completed or undertaking CA qualifications
  • Working knowledge of accounting software is preferable
  • Experience in Management Accounting or similar

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with cloud accounting packages including (Xero & MYOB)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
