Manager, Fraud & Investigations - Auckland


Join EY’s Forensic & Integrity Services (Forensics) and you will help clients work through complex issues of fraud, financial crime, regulatory compliance and business disputes – leveraging cutting edge technologies. You will be part of a multidisciplinary, culturally aligned team that works with clients and their legal advisors.
 
The successful candidate will join one of Oceania’s fastest growing forensic practices. The multi-disciplined FIS team includes accountants, risk managers, technology specialists and former regulatory and law enforcement professionals.
 
The opportunity
 
In this role you will be working on high-profile investigations, disputes and regulatory matters in one of the most exciting areas of professional services. You will work alongside an experienced leadership group that is focused on driving growth in the New Zealand market.
 
Your key responsibilities

  • Managing fraud misconduct investigations
  • Working with clients to proactively and reactively address potential financial crime, fraud and corruption risks
  • Managing a multi-disciplined team to help clients resolve financial crime, fraud and corruption challenges
  • Building valued relationships with external clients, principally large corporates, government agencies, law firms, regulators and internal peers to develop a portfolio of clients and projects that support the growth of our business. 
  • Drafting investigation and expert witness reports, ensuring high quality project delivery

  • An eye for developing existing client relationships
  • Enthusiasm and an appetite for professional development

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Previous work experience as a forensic accountant or within corporate compliance or risk management roles
  • Report writing skills and attention to detail is a must
  • Proficiency with excel and financial models
  • A willingness to travel within New Zealand and abroad

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience within a similar consulting environment 
  • A detailed knowledge of accounting concepts
  • Experience working with forensic technologies, including data analytics and eDiscovery
  • Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists or equivalent
