Our Internal Audit practice, a specialty group within Advisory Services, provides comprehensive advisory services through a suite of strategic, outsourcing, and industry-focused operational services to clients. We help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their internal control and risk management functions as well as their key business processes
.
We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Internal Audit team in our Auckland office. This role is offered on a flexible full time basis.
 
Your key responsibilities

  • Work with iconic and government and industry clients and other market leaders
  • Lead internal audit engagements and risk assessments. Take responsibility for the overall execution of programmes from planning through wrap-up and final report delivery to management and Audit Committees
  • Maintain a strong client focus by serving client needs and developing productive working relationships
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client's business
  • Actively encourage team members to contribute ideas and identify potential opportunities to apply EY's services
  • Grow and nurture our internal audit team through recruitment, learning and development and coaching

Skills and attributes for success
 
We’re interested in highly motivated talented individuals with a strong willingness to think outside of the box. You can expect plenty of autonomy in this role, so you’ll need the motivation to take initiative and seek out opportunities to improve our current relationships and help expand our business. If you’re serious about consulting and ready to take on some of our clients’ most complex issues, this role is for you.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a business-related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in internal control and internal audit
  • Hands on programme and project management experience
  • Experience in and knowledge of enterprise risk management (ERM), data analytics and payroll processes and systems including application of the Holidays Act 2013 will be considered an asset
