Operator/Sales Trader – Auckland, New Zealand


Joining our Cash Equities team in Auckland, you’ll step into the role of Operator/Sales Trader and work to build relationships across our client base in New Zealand as well as internationally along with broader key stakeholders within Macquarie. The ability to develop meaningful and long-term relationships will be essential. You will be capable of working with Research and Sales teams to deliver ideas to investors that leverage our global platform. We will be expecting you to possess proven experience in selling research products and this includes ASX research to New Zealand institutions as well as New Zealand research to international institutions. Execution and operation of Macquarie Cash Equities New Zealand orders, including but not limited to the preparation of daily “book” for clients and currency conversion where requested by clients will also form a component of your day. Working alongside senior members of our team, you will also assist with aspects of the facilitation function and be fully aware of trading rules, regulations and compliance.

You will need to hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or a related discipline and have gained approximately 4-5 years relevant experience in Institutional Sales, Sales Trading, Dealing, Execution or Broking environment. Being detailed and methodical as well as possessing outstanding verbal and written communication skills will also be essential. Excellent numerical and computer literacy will aid in your success. Naturally, you will be highly-motivated, driven and commercial in your work approach.
