Passenger Operator (Masterton)


The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Part Time Passenger Operator to join the existing team in Masterton and assist in the safe and punctual running of our services.

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 15.15 - 20.15 and Friday 15.15 - 24.15.

What the role involves 

As a qualified Passenger Operator, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and friendly service to passengers - including; selling tickets, safe operation of train doors and dealing with customer queries and issues.

You will have:

  • Customer service experience; with a strong focus on generating customer satisfaction.
  • Experience of dealing with a broad range of the public.
  • Effective communication - A high standard of literacy, both written and oral, is essential.
  • Ability to take charge of situations and stay calm under pressure.
  • High level of decision making skills.
  • High level of resistance to stressful situations, and ability to handle those situations effectively.
  • Confidence to work a busy train on your own when required.
