Senior Project Manager

Role purpose

Responsible for the End-to-End delivery of the complex or large projects including people, process and technology change. End to end responsibility commences with an agreed concept and continues through deployment and embedding to ensure internal and external (Customer) objectives are met. Accountable for the overall project quality, including the experience of new product & services for customers and aligning these with overall organisational strategies.

Ensures project and initiatives are delivered in accordance with the PPLM Method, DIR principles and in conformance of Vodafone’s Financial and PMO related policies and procdures. This includes managing project performance and financial tracking, capital expenditure processing, Opex processing and portfolio/project/portfolio status reporting to agreed KPIs’.

What will I be doing?

  • Operate as a Senior Project Manager for complex or large projects.
  • Accountable for scoping and planning assigned project(s) to deliver to business objectives and requirements in line with an agreed concept. Actively manages to scope and plan, escalating and resolving issues to ensure on time, on budget delivery.
  • Actively manages project resourcing highlighting requirements and participating in active prioritisation and workload balancing.
  • Responsible for quality of end to end delivery, taking project from concept phase through to successfully achieving the desire customer or organisational change.
  • Manage the successful delivery of projects, including managing and controlling the Capital Expenditure and Opex processes. Monitor and report that all Projects are taken through to capitalisation in accordance with Fixed asset capitalisation processes. Collate capital forecasts and raise and receipt purchase requisitions for projects as required.
  • Ensure that tasks are delivered on time, and fulfil the projects administrative requirements including quality gates being met and any change requests clearly documented and approved via the PPLM/PDR approval processes
  • Undertake PPLM Method Adoptions for projects to DIR principles and ensure tools and processes as required to maintain consistent delivery standards (including guidelines, policies, and communications).

What will I be doing?

  • Demonstrable Senior Project Management experience with practical knowledge of a wide range of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Advanced MS Office applications knowledge
  • Financial Management experience
  • Proven ability to work in a distributed/matrix based environment  
  • Experience and practical knowledge of a wide range tools, Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent relationship building with strong facilitation, negotiation, mediation and presentation skills to a senior level.
