What the role involves:

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team based in the Transdev Operations Centre (TOC) at Britomart. This position may require work across the Auckland Passenger Rail Network to fulfill the requirements of the role. This is a relief role so you will cover shifts as and when required.and is 24/7 roster shift coverage

Relief Fleet controllers are responsible for the monitoring, coordination and performance of the Auckland train network, ensuring the train services are provided in accordance with the agreed timetable plan and manage KPI's set be the Operational Management Plan.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in logistics to ensure fleet management of repairs and scheduled maintenance is dealt with accurately across our mixed fleet
  • Customer focused; ensuring fleet allocations meet customer demands
  • Ability to plan & think ahead
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement to make informed decisions while recognising the impact of changes on other aspects of the daily operation
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office & databases). Good knowledge of Excel preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff and all Service Providers
  • Sound understanding of company processes
  • Ability to work in a Control Room/Operations Centre environment

It is preferred for candidates to have a minimum of 2 years' experience in public transport operations and a mechanical qualification (or demonstrate mechanical experience/aptitude for operation of electric and diesel trains)
