Transdev Auckland is contracted to Auckland Transport to operate passenger rail services in Auckland. The Auckland train network carries more than 18 million passengers per annum, is serviced by more than 650 Transdev staff, and operates more than 2,800 services each week.

What the role involves:

The Roster Co-ordinator is primarily responsible for the resourcing of rosters for Locomotive Engineers and Train Managers, to ensure the rail network is effectively resourced. This includes appropriate rostering; leave management and planning to cover unexpected absences. This role will manage appropriate fortnightly rosters up until the day before operation.

As a Roster Co-ordinator you will negotiate and juggle available resources to meet service requirements while respecting the need for staff to maintain a work life balance. You will be highly aware of safety and fatigue issues involved in rostering. You will work closely with line managers and other parties to assist with the management of leave and coverage of shifts to allow other duties to be carried out.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of rostering principles and employee awards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • High level numeracy and literacy skills
  • Strong persuasive skills
  • Intermediate computer skills
