Spatial Analyst

Who we are
We’re on a mission to reinvent the way homes, cities and communities are powered.

Our people are creating a new energy future where power will flow through brilliant infrastructure, smart technology and clever systems. It’s all about providing greater access to more affordable, reliable, sustainable energy.

Electric vehicles, renewables and next-gen batteries will all play a part. But it’s more than that; to truly shift the dial on decarbonisation we need the best and the brightest to capitalise on the convergence of technology, sustainability and customer focus that forms the basis of our strategy.

We’ve done great things already, join us and help us do even more.

About the role
Work alongside experienced and passionate analytics and engineering professionals to better understand our electricity and gas networks from a geospatial perspective.

As New Zealand’s largest distribution network, Vector is regarded as a leader in asset management and data and analytics are at the heart of what we do. You will be working with large diverse geospatial data sets to solve business problems, identify opportunities and build understanding across the entire asset management chain. This senior role will have end to end responsibility to source, understand, map, and interpret geospatial data and then create the story and provide the findings and recommendations in a way that enables senior leadership to make decisions. The scope of the work will impact all aspects of asset management including planning, investment, network resilience, maintenance and vegetation management.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Spatial Analyst with the following skills and experience:

  • Expertise in ESRI ARC GIS applications
  • Data visualisation and analysis
  • Development and publication of web maps
  • Extraction and collection of spatial data sets, to input into spatial models and maps
  • An understanding of electrical engineering or the energy industry would be an advantage

Working across different and varied business units, you will have great interpersonal skills and your communication and presentation skills need to be strong, with the ability to convey information and present analysis in a clear and articulate way.

What we can offer you

We take pride in our vision and values, working together to create a new energy future.

You'll be joining a dynamic company that provides the ideal career environment for individuals with high calibre experience and skills.
