Business Development Manager - Corporate Central

You are directly involved in the customers journey from strategy  right through to planning, while teaming up with external and internal stakeholders to transform businesses, run innovation workshops and identify areas of growth for our customers. Role purpose:  To acquire new Business customers in accordance with monthly sales targets, and ensure their telecommunication needs (mobile and/or fixed) are accurately identified and met, with all outstanding customer issues resolved prior to handing over to account management for ongoing lifecycle management.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership 


• Prospect for new business on a regular basis and maintain a visible pipeline (3:1) within CRM systems of this activity.
• Follow up on all sales leads to ensure  opportunities are fully investigated and all potential customers are contacted to ascertain their total communication requirements.
• Work alongside account management team to ensure all customers are effectively handed off in accordance with defined timeframes and processes.
• Ensure all outstanding customer issues are resolved prior to handover to account manager.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data within all relevant CRM systems.
• Attend relevant sales meetings and customer  meetings
• Attend all required training and achieve/maintain Vodafone certification status.
• Attend relevant industry networking, hosting, events and forums
• Drive the timely provisioning of all services

• Demonstrate professionalism and a client consciousness that aligns with Vodafone’s strategic business objectives and policies.
• Personable & approachable with customers 
• Professional telephone and F2F manner
• Able to work on own initiative 
• Works well as part of a team
• Calm and used to working under pressure
• Knowledgeable and commercially aware of the appropriate NZ segment sector and the market place
• Competent business writing skills
• Ability to qualify sales opportunities
• Strong customer focus
• Strong self motivation and drive for success 


Must have technical / professional qualifications: 
• Strong understanding of the Telecommunications Industry, products, services and trends
• Familiar with Vodafone suite of products
• Ability to learn new technologies as they develop.
