Core Services DevOps Engineer

In this role as Core Services DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for the design, implementation and 24x7 operation of the Core Services domain. You will be an active part of the DevOps function to deliver significant improvements in Network capability & performance ensuring continuous improvement in customer experience.


What will I be doing?


Design
• Deliver accurate, cost effective designs aligned to architectural, design and operational requirements considering all E2E impacts
• Own capacity and lifecycle management for relevant platforms
• Contribute to the development of domain roadmaps, network plans and capital budgets


Implementation
• On time and budget delivery & implementation ensuring network integrity is maintained
• Implementation of Network change as per agreed processes
• Ensure all changes have passed the full set of acceptance tests and quality standards before live implementation


Operate
• Ensure Incident resolution achieved within operational SLA targets 
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rosters as required.
• Develop and implement processes, procedures and automation to improve operational performance.
Ensure network integrity is maintained through an effective maintenance program.


What will I bring?
• Ability to engage and work in a high performing team, make decisions under pressure and communicate effectively.
• Ability to build strong relationship with key stakeholders 
• Ensure effective knowledge sharing and Agile practices are in place and successful
• Understand ITIL methodologies
• Demonstrable expertise in at least one Core Services domain; Core Voice, Core Data or IP Transport
• Experience of working on virtualization and cloud technologies.
• In-depth working knowledge in wireless technologies and protocols including GTP, Diameter, SS7. 
• Familiarity with future voice architectures like VoLTE, VoWiFi.
• Experience in troubleshooting packet core related faults. Able to document call flows and develop traffic forecasts.
• Strong 3gpp standards knowledge
