  • Technical data analytics, commercial insights and stakeholder management skills required

Westpac is a strong and trusted brand in the New Zealand market.  We provide great, innovative banking products and continue to enhance our customers experience with next generation banking.

We have recently embarked on a new phase in the way we work which has been one of the most significant changes in our organisations' history - changing the 'delivery' part of our business into cross functional teams that have adopted working methodology drawn down from 'Agile' principles. We call it the Westpac Way of Working.

Why Westpac Analytics?

It is a very exciting time to work in analytics at Westpac.  As we continue to develop and grow our Analytics Chapter, you'll work with a cross functional team to deliver actionable insights and drive customer outcomes aligned with the Everyday Banking tribe strategy.  Along with great opportunities to hone your craft, you can also get stuck into collaborative initiatives that will challenge you in various areas of the business.  Of course, you'll also be eligible for Westpac's industry-leading superannuation and staff-banking packages – along with other benefits.

Reporting to the Analytics Chapter Lead, you will work closely with your cross functional squad and the wider team to support Westpac's strategies and initiatives.  Your role is in the pivotal position of being able to analyse the bank wide data to provide the business with actionable insights and recommendations to drive improvements in market share, customer satisfaction and revenue.  You will build strong connections with stakeholders and become a key player in driving informed decision making. You will also design and deliver the data for campaign communications and be involved throughout the process including pre and post campaign analysis.

Help us reach new heights.

We are looking for someone who strives to improve performance and can understand how to apply analytics to create real insight and address business needs. You are energetic, passionate and able to build strong relationships and influence the decisions and the actions of others using data to support arguments. Your ability to problem solve and your attention to detail are other key qualities that will add value.

What you need to succeed:

  • 3+ years’ experience in using SAS and SQL to deliver business insights.
  • Experience working with complex data and able to provide quality reporting to support decision-making.
  • Ability to manage and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Solid verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry including working knowledge of Everyday Banking products and metrics, covering consumer transactional accounts, savings, debit cards and term investments (preferred).
  • Experience in delivering customer communications, from translating business requirements, through to data delivery and implementation (preferred).
  • Experience with Power BI or other visualisation software (preferred).
  • Tertiary qualification in Maths, Stats, Computer Science or some other related field (preferred).

Apply today with your CV and cover letter.  We're also keen to have a chat with all shortlisted candidates about workplace flexibility.

Please note that you must have the right to work in New Zealand on a full-time, permanent basis for this role.
