About the role:

Sitting within the Risk Management team, this role supports the Business to make fast, strategic and risk-based decisions. Supporting the Senior Risk Partner of Data, Cyber and Technology Risk to provide analysis, insight and oversight on the Business' delivery of relevant risk management frameworks. The role blends a mixture of advice, challenge and execution across the business, technology and information security to enable the bank to carry out effective data and technology risk practices.

This will be done through:

  • Providing specialist, pragmatic, outcome-focussed risk advice and data-driven insights that supports decisions, optimise risk reward balance and assist Technology and Business units to achieve their objectives, within risk appetite.
  • Developing a key expertise in all internal policies, frameworks, standards and guidance impacting data and technology, in particular the adoption and maintenance of localised versions.
  • Building strong relationships across Risk, the 3LoD and its business partners to focus on forward thinking advice and ensuring strong management of agreed outcomes.

What you will bring to the role?

  • Tertiary education or longstanding Industry Certification in Data Risk, Data Audit/Modelling, Information Security, Information Technology, Risk Management or equivalent discipline
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience working in the financial sector with a high focus on data risk
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in operational risk and compliance (either in a 1st or 2LoD Risk capacity)
  • 1 to 2 years' operational experience with big data platforms, technology and/or information security; and/or risk advisory experience in the same.
  • Experience in at-least one complex data program, such as GDPR, Cloud, AI automation and ideally in a project risk capacity with an end-to-end understanding of data infrastructure and data processing capabilities
  • Demonstrate ability to visualise data risk in the context of an Enterprise Risk Management taxonomy (with a very good understanding of technology and cyber risk principles)
  • Strong organisational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, liaising with all levels of the Business
  • Demonstrable experience of directly influencing senior stakeholders, strategic thinking and prioritisation
