User Experience Designer - Business Banking

Our Customer Experience and Design Chapter examines every inch of the services, journeys and interactions between Westpac and our customers. This area is responsible for facilitating, gathering and the distilling of information to inform customer-centred design, including researching, analysing, designing and optimising processes to deliver value for our customers and Westpac.

 
How will you help?
 

User experience (UX) is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that our customers’ love. We strive to learn and understand our customers’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to yield insights that inform product strategy and guide the design of the digital experiences we create.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate User Experience Designer to join our Digital Experience team. You’ll be responsible for helping shape and evolve the user experience for Business Banking.

You'll use data, research, insight, and empathy to understand customer problems. You'll take concepts from sketches and post-it notes all the way through to production. You'll work with other customer research, user experience and digital designers to simplify interactions and create experiences our customers love.

 
We’re looking for someone who can… 

  • Pro-actively use customer feedback, insights and analytics to define the user experience and help shape product specifications
  • Research, plan and create design artefacts (e.g. user flows and wireframes, customer journeys, interactive prototypes, sitemaps, information architecture)
  • Plan and lead user research and usability sessions for Business Banking
  • Lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices.
  • Communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively to different audiences and varying levels of the organisation
  • Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders inside and outside the core business team in-order to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.

You will have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design, human-computer interaction, information science or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years in similar roles with demonstrated hands-on experience in User Experience Design
  • Strong interaction design skills and UI experience
  • Excellent communication skills including written communication
  • Good understanding of Web Accessibility Guidelines
  • Knowledge about user experience and design workflow utilising tools such as: Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite or comparable tools + prototyping & collaboration tools such as Invision or Atomic
  • Ideally you’ll have experience gained in large, complex organisations
  • A portfolio or samples and/or case studies of work, demonstrating relevant experience
