Your development, your wellbeing

Genesis Energy

Learning and Development

On the Job Development

At Genesis Energy, you'll be encouraged to grow your knowledge and skills. We do this through on the job development, and by giving you exposure to tasks and projects that will help expand your capabilities.

We approach your development using the following framework:

  • 70% from real life and on-the-job experiences, tasks and problem solving.
  • 20% from feedback and from observing and working with role models.
  • 10% from formal training.

Leadership Development

We also use the 70/20/10 model to develop our leaders. We achieve this through experience, exposure and educational development opportunities.

These include internal and external leadership programmes, coaching and mentoring, secondments and special projects and assignments.

The Company works in conjunction with employees to identify their career aspirations and support them in developing a career plan to achieve their career goals.

Work/Life Balance

Volunteer Day
The Genesis Energy volunteer programme gives employees one paid day off each year to volunteer on community projects. This strength in numbers enables the completion of tasks that would be otherwise unachievable and demonstrates the power of volunteering in transforming communities.

Social Club
ClubGen is a social club run by Genesis Energy employees. If you decide to join, you'll be part of regular social events, as well as recreational and cultural activities across each of the Company's locations. It's a great way to network and connect with your colleagues away from work.

Recognition

The Recognition Programme ‘Recognising You' celebrates both individuals and teams who live our three behaviours in delivering great outcomes for Genesis Energy. Our Recognition Programme is designed to let you recognise great work done by your colleagues. We also:

  • Recognise long service.
  • Undertake company celebrations and team building activities that recognise great business outcomes, positive Health and Safety initiatives, diversity, excellent customer service and people who role model our behaviours.

Health and Wellbeing

The Genesis Energy Employee Benefits Programme provides a range of great benefits for employees and their families. Details are shown on the Employee Benefits and Wellness Portal, 'Tracksuit-inc', and include:

Personal Support and Counselling

The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) through our provider Vitae is available to help you and your immediate family with:

  • Personal concerns
  • Work related issues
  • Family issues
  • Anxiety, depression, trauma
  • Financial problems

This is a free, independent and confidential counselling service provided by qualified and experienced professionals. You can contact Vitae on 0508 664 981.

Health Insurance

Medical bills can be unexpected and expensive. To help you manage your wellbeing, Genesis Energy provides employees with Southern Cross ‘Wellbeing One' or ‘RegularCare' insurance provided at no cost to you. You can include a partner and dependents at your own cost within your policy if you wish. You will need to pay for any additional family member cover, but the annual pricing offered does provide a significant saving to you.

Life, Terminal Illness and Personal Accident Insurance

The Company provides employees with paid insurance covering life, terminal illness and accident insurance to help provide you and your dependents with peace of mind. Again, this is an excellent benefit as the Company provides this free of charge for its employees. You can also include family members at your own cost if you wish.

Trauma Insurance

Paid trauma insurance is also provided to paid employees. This is a one-off payment for a serious illness event.

Income Protection Insurance

Genesis Energy provides employees with paid income protection insurance to help provide financial security by paying your income if you were off work with an illness for an extended period.
