SKYCITY partners with Global Women

SkyCity Entertainment Group

On the eve of International Women’s Day, SKYCITY proudly announced its new partnership with Global Women at its inaugural Winning Women professional development event, attended by more than 120 staff.

The partnership sees SKYCITY Entertainment Group become a principal partner of Global Women, an organisation that aims to change the face of business to be as diverse as New Zealand itself. This is the latest step in our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

SKYCITY’s Chief Executive Officer Graeme Stephens, who has recently signed on as a Champion of Change with Global Women, says “I’m a strong advocate for greater diversity and inclusion and believe in the value this brings to our business in gender, ethnicity and culture. SKYCITY is proud to partner with Global Women and show our commitment in such a public way.”

The partnership will also allow us to increase our offering and support for SKYCITY staff and continue to actively support the pipeline of talent to the top with leadership and professional development programmes, and events such as yesterday’s Winning Women event.

Attended by over 120 staff members, the Winning Women: Your Future Your Way event included an inspiring talk by Dame Jenny Shipley, discussion with a panel of leaders from our business, and activities to support attendees to take charge of their careers and look at what’s possible.

We have already been working with Global Women in a number of ways, including the Break Through Leaders programme and as a Major Sponsor of the Tupu Toa, a corporate pathways internship programme SKYCITY has committed to for a further three years.

For International Women’s Day, Thursday 8 March, SKYCITY has also lit the Sky Tower in purple.
