The role of Project Manager will be based in a busy PMO based in Dunedin and will work closely with a key client across all aspects of a civil construction project lifecycle.

The Role

AECOM Construction Services are operating in a busy PMO based in Dunedin. This project office is currently in need of a proven Project Manager to work closely with the client and represent our successful Construction Services brand in a long-term civil construction project.

As a Project Manager in Dunedin, you will have a strong knowledge of client-side project management consulting and the ability to work closely with a variety of multidisciplinary stakeholders.

This opportunity will allow a suitable Project Manager to work as a key client-facing advisor and be capable of integrating client requirements into project deliverables through strong contract administration and stakeholder engagement.

Project Managers in AECOM Construction Services are involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, therefore enabling you to support Senior Project Managers in tender submissions/proposals, project delivery and establish delivery strategies with a variety of stakeholders while ensuring AECOMs goals and financial indicators are achieved successfully.

Minimum Requirements

The position of Project Manager will suit a proven Project Manager with a broad project background and who has an interest in developing a client-side Project Management career alongside some of the best in the industry.

To be considered for the role of Project Manager you will meet some or all the following criteria;

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar

  • 4 years’ (minimum) Project Management experience in a civil construction environment

  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, to schedule and to client parameters including a good understanding of project management frameworks

  • Project background in Utilities and/or Civil Construction, working to New Zealand standards and contract forms

  • Demonstrable project experience and understanding of project management frameworks

  • Ability to confidently manage projects worth up to $15m in capital value

  • A proven background in developing long term business relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment

  • Strong commitment to safety and understanding of OH&S best practice and obligations.

  • Familiarity with financial and contractual obligations and a confidence in holding such discussions with clients

  • Strong ability to influence and confidence in negotiation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management or postgraduate qualification

  • Ideally, exposure to Project Management in a client-side environment/consultancy
