Head of Operational Risk & Compliance


  • Embed the operational and compliance risk framework in UDC
  • Lead and enhance the risk and conduct culture across the business
  • Instil an innovative approach to first line risk management

About The Role

In this role, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the operational risk and compliance function to ensure the appropriate framework is in place to effectively identify, assess, treat and monitor risk and compliance across UDC
  • Ensure the control environments for UDC’s key risks are effectively assessed and constantly strengthened
  • Analyse and manage operational loss incidents to mitigate future financial loss
  • Provide assurance to UDC LT on the adequacy and effectiveness of the operational risk and compliance framework
  • Deliver quality operational risk and compliance reporting to senior management, to enable effective oversight of operational risk and compliance
  • Engage with senior management and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate awareness and oversight of the risk matters affecting UDC
  • Give expert operational risk and compliance advice and insights to senior management
  • Develop a highly engaged operational risk and compliance team that outperform

Role Location: Auckland

Role Type: Permanent

 

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: 

  • Relevant risk management, audit or governance experience
  • Ability to liaise with internal customer stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills to influence and present to senior stakeholders & executives
  • Tenacity to lead and develop a highly engaged and high performing team
  • Drive to build strong, open and collaborative working relationships
