Regional Project Manager - Facilities Management

THE PROJECT

The centralAlliance is a collaborative agreement between the MidCentral and the Whanganui District Health Boards. The centralAlliance provides critical services to enable healthy lives and well communities. In partnership with the DHBs, Ventia will support healthcare objectives by keeping the facilities safe, clean and operational. We will also facilitate positive patient experiences by introducing technology to improve services and by enabling patient care through people-centred facilities management.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
This role will provide lots of variety, a high degree of autonomy, and an opportunity to work on essential social infrastructure that supports the community. In this role, you will be heavily mentored, thus setting you up for success. Our Facilities Management business is a strong, stable, and growing business.  You will be part of a well-established, collaborative, and supportive team where you can also gain access to learning and development opportunities for career growth within the FM team and the wider Ventia business.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Project Director, your role as Regional Project Manager is to manage a portfolio of roughly 25 projects at any given time. There will be a variety of major and minor projects ranging in value from around $10,000 NZD to several million dollars. Not all projects will be managed directly by you - in some instances you will be overseeing the work of an external PM. You will be responsible for safety, cost, planning, delivery to programme and management of all subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. However, you will be able to draw upon support from team members and central support functions for a lot of these deliverables.

This role is based in Palmerston North but there is an expectation to travel to Whanganui, Levin and two other smaller sites in the region.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

This role will suit a Project Manager who has worked on construction and capital works projects in the building and facilities management environment. Previous experience in the management of construction projects related to healthcare facilities is advantageous but not essential.

Desired skills, knowledge, and qualifications

  • Experience in managing a portfolio of projects.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in the FM industry
  • Experience in overseeing and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and consultancies.
  • Experience in the proposal and development of capital works projects.
