Director, Consumer Insights Qualitative - 38942

Analytics - New Zealand, Auckland

Due to business growth and career development opportunities, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Qualitative Director to lead and develop our qualitative insights practice.

You’ll be joining a respected team of insights professionals, full of curious minds that are constantly learning from each other (including putting this to good use in weekly quizzes, with the occasional home baking). This is your opportunity to join a team who are proudly New Zealand based but who share ideas and knowledge with colleagues around the globe.

Most importantly you will have had experience leading and developing a team that delivers great qualitative insights. You’ll also be a strong developer of emerging talent – leading by example and nurturing tomorrow’s industry leaders.

You will share our purpose of helping clients to make a difference, whether they are a commercial business, government agency, or a not for profit organisation. With a strong customer ethic, you will be eager to solve client's problems, foster existing relationships and develop new business through strong relationship building. Ideally you’ll also have strong existing relationships at senior levels.

On a technical level you will have kept you skills up to date and be able to apply them to a broad range of client and business problems. You will be comfortable operating at a strategic level, as well as getting hands on and conducting fieldwork as required – all around New Zealand and Australia.

Skills and Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in research and insights
  • Be professional, well presented and willing to roll up your sleeves with a fun and energetic team!
  • Have excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be a strong relationship builder as well as a great storyteller
  • Be self-motivated, adaptable and proactive.
  • Have the ability to mix traditional and new research methods as the need arises
  • Strong commercial acumen and business development skills

Nielsen has a passion for making all employees feel welcome and that they belong. We believe in flexible working, whether that means adjusting your hours, needing time to work from home or anything else which may help you maintain balance. However, with a choice of office locations (either on Takapuna beach or within a short stroll of Wellington’s best coffee and arts scene) you might be spoilt for choice. We also believe in giving back, so you'll see us out in the community - look for our blue t-shirts! We dedicate a day each year, around the globe in 110 countries, to stopping our work and going out to volunteer as a team. In addition, each employee receives three paid days annually to use to volunteer. We love remembering the big picture in addition to the work we do on a day-to-day basis.

So if a role with variety, ongoing development opportunities, with a global brand that cares about their staff and community, and a great team are on your wish list, please do not hesitate to apply today.
