Transaction Diligence Manager - Auckland


Do you aspire to work on merger or acquisition deals from the ground up? Join our Transaction Diligence (TD) team and help corporate and private equity clients on buy-side and sell-side to understand if the deal is the right decision at the right price.
 
The opportunity
 
This position will contribute to the TD practice management key TD engagements whilst assisting with the development of junior team members.
 
This position requires the person to have or create a strong network of relationships across the TD and Transactions industry and assist TD leadership in identifying new business opportunities.
 
Your key responsibilities

  • Lead TD engagements, allocate tasks among team members and manage project teams ensuring timely reporting and compliance with the Firm Quality and Risk Management requirements and preparation of due diligence reports based on work performed.
  • Be an active team leader that keeps the team focused on objectives, role models respectful, open and trustworthy behaviour and shares information to keep the team informed.
  • Build effective and ongoing partnerships with EY clients and generate revenue streams through understanding the clients’ business needs and providing valued insights that enhance the business relationship.
  • Identify TD and transaction opportunities and help generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions, and utilising existing knowledge/methodologies.

  • Excellent time management and project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines across multiple clients.
  • Highly numerate with a logical and methodical approach and the ability to think laterally.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively work with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to successfully manage conflict situations with demonstrated resilience.
  • Positive, pro-active attitude and enthusiasm.

To qualify for the role you should have

  • Bachelors Degree with relevant papers completed in accounting, finance or business
  • Experience working in transaction diligence, advisory or corporate finance
  • Ability to identify, manage and complete Transaction Diligence assignments
  • Pro-active working style with the ability to adapt to client requirements and cross sell other lines of service for the Firm.
  • Established network of relationships across the industry, in particular with referrers of work is a strong plus
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop and coach junior staff members
  • Chartered Accountant or CFA (or equivalent)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
