Bid Manager (12 month contract)

With a fast-growing, highly successful team, we’re now looking for a Bid Manager to help us win future work by taking charge of managing and creating strong bids and tenders.

In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring we put our best foot forward, delivering standout proposals that showcase our skills to external audiences. You’ll look for opportunities to improve the way we’re doing things and find new ways to enhance the quality of our bids and tenders and our process for delivering them. When you’re not working on live tenders, you’ll work to update our bid and tender resources, building up a ‘library’ of sections we’ll need for future proposals. You’ll be working with a very diverse range of internal stakeholders, understanding what makes our customers tick and communicating the benefits of working with Holmes. This is an important role demanding collaboration, initiative and the ability to deliver under pressure.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have a strong track record of completing bids in an engineering, architecture or construction environment. You’ll be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, demonstrate excellent communication skills and have no problem managing priorities and deadlines. Your stakeholder management and influencing skills must be exceptional, and we’d prefer you to have experience of InDesign or Publisher. You’ll be a very competent writer, with the ability to translate technical concepts into simple language—and turn a small amount of information into a compelling bid response.
