About the role

Vector is a leading infrastructure group that owns and manages a unique portfolio of energy and fibre optic infrastructure networks across the country. At Vector, Advanced Metering Services (AMS) provides metering for gas and electricity at sites ranging from domestic through to large industrial installations. Our gas measurement systems (GMS)  are used to measure natural gas and liquid petroleum gas at installation across New Zealand. AMS installs and maintains GMS to ensure they remain safe and accurate and works to continuously improve the assets it provides and the service it delivers.

Reporting to the Gas Metering Manager, this role will manage the Gas Metering Systems (GMS) assets to ensure the continued compliance of existing and new regulatory requirements and standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing regulatory compliance requirements and the audit process associated with GMS installations to ensure they comply with all legal and business requirements
  • Provide accurate documentation, ensuring standards and procedures have been followed
  • Provide technical input into the selection design and installation of systems
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement around service delivery

Who we are looking for

You will be a self starter and enjoy managing your own work load to meet expectations.  As part of a small but highly technical team, there is a huge opportunity to gain knowledge and expertise in the gas industry.  Ideally you will have some years’ experience in an industrial or engineering audit role with experience with natural gas systems.  We will provide you with the training required to fulfil this technically specialised role. As this is a customer facing role, your strong interpersonal skills and great attitude enables you to work to deliver quality outcomes for both the business and our customers.
