IP DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an IP Network Specialist who will be responsible for the design, implementation and operations of the IP Network. Your role will be an IP DevOps Engineer in the Core Services DevOps team delivering significant improvements in Network capability & performance, while ensuring continuous improvement in customer experience.
 
What will I be doing?
 
Design


• Deliver accurate, cost effective designs aligned to architectural, design and operational requirements considering all E2E impacts
• Own capacity and lifecycle management for relevant platforms
• Contribute to the development of domain roadmaps, network plans and capital budgets


Implementation


• On time and budget delivery & implementation ensuring network integrity is maintained
• Implementation of Network change as per agreed processes
• Ensure all changes have passed the full set of acceptance tests and quality standards before live implementation


Operate


• Ensure Incident resolution achieved within operational SLA targets
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rosters as required.
• Develop and implement processes, procedures and automation to improve operational performance
• Ensure network integrity is maintained through an effective maintenance program


What will I bring?


• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the various elements and protocols of an IP Network
• Demonstrate specific knowledge and capabilities related to carrier grade telecommunications networks
• Deep understanding of L2/L3 protocols, IP routing, MPLS, BGP, Ethernet, QoS and SDN
• Familiarity with emerging standards and architecture for fixed and mobile networks
• Experience of working on standard virtualization, NFV and cloud technologies
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving IP network related faults
• Understanding of automation and programming
• Ability to engage and work in a high performing team, make decisions under pressure and communicate effectively.
• Ability to build strong relationship with key stakeholders 
• Ensure effective knowledge sharing and Agile practices are in place and successful
• Significant experience in analysing, designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining complex solutions typically associated with the IP Network.
