Security Operations Engineer

Plan, architect, design, build, test, deliver and run efficient and effective customer focused IT solutions, is all in a day’s work for our Technology team. With the customer at the heart of everything we do, and through the use of Agile methodologies, our Tech team craft complex solutions to simplify our day to day lives. They ensure we are ready internally, and drive the strategy for Technology, architecture, security and innovation for businesses locally and globally.

This exciting opportunity will see you responsible for maintaining a highly available, secure environment for our managed security clients, services and core infrastructure. You will be technically confident and competent in Vodafone Securities products and services. You will be called upon to provide technical leadership and guidance within the operations team. You will lead (help with) the resolution of complex faults.

What will I be doing?

  • Ongoing drive to continuously expand personal and professional capabilities
  • Participate in incident and troubleshooting activities for both internal and external customers
  • Design and implement changes across a range of products in accordance with relevant change procedures
  • Monitor and maintain security systems to agreed SLA’s
  • Perform security and risk assessments based on current vulnerabilities

What will I bring? 

  • Check Point Firewall, Cisco routing and switching technologies
  • Checkpont or Fortigate experience and F5.
  • Operating and maintaining load balancers, proxies and other networking infrastructure in a security environment
  • Capable of working under pressure, excellent time management skills & flexibility to work outside business hours
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communicator
