Product Manager - Payments

We have recently embarked on a new phase in the way we work which has been one of the most significant changes in our organisations' history - changing the 'delivery' part of our business into cross functional teams that have adopted working methodology drawn down from 'Agile' principles. How will you help?
 

A newly created Product Manager opportunity is now available responsible for providing product management expertise within our Payments Tribe.

This rewarding role will ensure Westpac NZ has the right products, pricing framework, processes and management information to meet the changing needs of our customers.  Aspects of this role will include formulating strategies and tactics to improve the customer experience and providing insights and reporting to assist with decision-making and execution.

You'll also use your understanding of the payments processes and industry knowledge to innovate and highlight any new forms of payments and technologies in this area. This will ensure we remain at the forefront when it comes to delivering a world-class service to our customers.

To be successful in this role, you will need: 

  • At least 3+ years' of experience in a product management role, ideally with Payments in the Financial Service arena
  • Strong product development experience from forming business cases through to launch
  • Sound financial and business disciplines, with experience gained in large organisations
  • Proven project delivery experience to develop, initiate and implement plans
  • The drive to innovate and keep up to date with the latest technologies in Payments
  • Merchant industry or Card issuing experience preferred
  • Presentation skills of a high quality and the ability to confidently communicate with senior stakeholders in the business
  • Some experience working in an agile environment and with agile systems, for instance Jira, Confluence with be beneficial, but not essential
  • An appropriate tertiary business degree
