Social Media Specialist


What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga

Join AA's Creative and Content Team and become the social media guardian for one of the most loved, recognised and trusted brands in the country. In this new role, you'll be sinking your seasoned social teeth into contributing to the development of AA's social media strategy. From there, you will become the social glue at the AA, working with a variety of teams to create and manage our social content, ultimately strengthening our community of valued followers and members.

  • Kick starting this role is the opportunity to work closely with our Head of Brand & Content, and the Senior Brand Manager to develop AA's social media strategy and then take ownership to deliver it.
  • You'll be the social media 'glue' at the AA, working cross-functionally with a variety of teams who have their fingers in our social pie. Think our PX and Corporate Comms teams, alongside our Customer Care and Marketing teams.
  • You'll be the go-to person for developing content guidelines for social media, plus partnering with our CX team (Member Care) and Communications team to develop community management guidelines.
  • You'll be the guardian of the social media content plan, ensuring the plan supports campaign activity and business objectives.
  • With above all ship-shape, you'll then work with the wider Brand and Content team to generate ideas and creative for social media and set about creating the content to post.
  • You'll be managing social media content posting, including competitions and engagement activity. Plus being a community manager extraordinaire by monitoring and responding to comments on content.
  • Lastly, you'll be keeping up-to-date with social media trends and developments so that you can share your wisdom with the wider AA marketing team.

About You | Mōu

  • You have a couple of years social media experience under the belt, with proven successes in social engagement and community building and now you are ready to take it to the next level and work with one of New Zealand's most well-known brands.
  • You have a worldly, creative, and curious outlook on life. You have plenty of fresh new ideas you can't wait to share.
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing or communications.
  • A superstar planner with organisational skills that rival Marie Kondo. (You will need these)
  • Enjoy becoming part of and contributing to our Creative and Content team. We are a pretty okay bunch and have even been nominated for an international content award! 😊
